Family Background

Sri Barman comes from a respected family deeply rooted in public service and social contribution. His father, Sri Surendranath Barman, served as the BJP District President from 1997 to 2001. His mother, Late Smt. Sakuntala Barman, served as a Panchayat Member from 1994 to 2009. He is married to Smt. Keya Roy Barman, a school teacher, and they are blessed with two children.

Sri Anandamay Barman holds multiple academic qualifications, including B.A. (Honours), M.A. in Bengali, M.A. in History, M.A. in Political Science, B.Ed, M.Ed, NET in Education, and NET in Political Science, reflecting his strong commitment to learning and academic excellence.

Political Journey & Achievements

A prominent leader in North Bengal, Sri Anandamay Barman has played a vital role in strengthening grassroots organization and public engagement. He served as BJP District President from 2021 to 2023. He won the 2021 Assembly Election with a record margin of 70,848 votes, the highest in West Bengal, and repeated this achievement in the 2026 Assembly Election with an even larger margin of 1,04,265 votes. He is widely recognized for his people-centric and development-oriented leadership.
